Parent and Baby Group New mothers may feel that they are working harder than they should be and wonder if they bring a level of anxiety to their parenting that may influence their child's natural development.In the first year of life, babies communicate primarily through movement. Parents respond to their babies' movements as non-verbal messages and a back and forth dance of gestures, postures and body movements is created between the two. The effects of these communications are long-lasting and affect the babies' interests, preferences, ways of coping, and identifying themselves as they develop. Authentic Movement Workshops Authentic movement is a form of self-discovery that allows you to find your inner voice and connect with yourself by listening and attending to your body. Conducted in a safe environment, authentic movement members close their eyes and move in the space as they feel the impulse to move. Movement is not choreographed; instead, members move silently in the same way that one speaks their own ideas in a "stream of consciousness". In this workshop, members discover their preferred way of moving in relation to themselves and others, how to cultivate their own witness and begin to understand how their body holds their true nature.
